Braking like a Pro
Modern bikes come loaded with powerful disc brakes, ABS, Traction Control, and Stability Control— learn how to use them to and how they can affect your ride.

Brakes and the use of them is one of the main tools that a rider has when it comes to the emergency situation. They are also one of the easiest ways of getting ourselves into trouble when not using effectively and efficiently or more frequently in “PANIC” mode.
Your Mentor will discuss the operation of the braking systems fitted to your machine and what systems are fitted, ABS, Traction Control and even Stability Control and how to get the best out of each system.
They will also discuss how to conduct a regular brake test of your machine to ensure that they are working correctly and to the level that you expect. It is a bit late waiting until you really need them to find out they are not working properly!
They will help to explain the effects that each brake has on your machine, how it can cause differing levels of movement of the weight distribution in the machine and how that can cause either instability in your machine, or in some situations help stabilise the machine. Equipping you with this knowledge should enable you to determine when and which brake to use under all the different circumstances you may encounter.
Good operation of the brakes, independently or in tandem will help you to maximise your safety and generate better progress.
